On March 8, AYKO turned five.

When we started AYKO, the idea was simple but powerful: create a platform that identifies, nurtures, and showcases creative talent; particularly voices and stories that deserve to be seen on a global stage.

Five years later, that belief feels more relevant than ever.

AYKO was never intended to be just an agency.  It was conceived as a bridge, connecting creativity, culture, and opportunity across borders.

From Lagos to London, from emerging creatives to established global institutions, the journey has been one of collaboration, discovery, and constant learning.

Over the past five years we have had the privilege of working with remarkable individuals and organisations; people who believe, as we do, that creativity is not just expression, it is influence.

We have seen talents develop international audiences.

Creators tell stories that reshape how Africa is seen and understood.

Visual storytellers step onto global platforms.

One of the most powerful reminders of this came recently through the AYKO x Getty Images Masterclass in Lagos.

More than 750 creatives applied for 120 places. The energy in the room was extraordinary.  What we witnessed was not just talent, it was hunger, ambition, and belief.

It reinforced something AY and I have long believed:
Africa’s creative story is still being written, and the world is ready to listen.

But none of this happens in isolation.

AY and I know that AYKO exists because of the people who believe in it.

Our partners.
Our collaborators.
The extraordinary creatives who trust us with their journeys.
And the growing community that continues to support the vision.

To everyone who has played a part in these first five years, thank you.

The truth is, this still feels like the beginning.

The next chapter for AYKO will be about going further:
supporting more talent, building deeper partnerships, and continuing to create platforms where creativity and culture meet opportunity.

If the first five years were about building the foundation, the next five will be about expanding the impact.

Because creativity has the power to shape narratives, build bridges, and inspire the next generation.

And that work has only just begun.

Happy 5th anniversary, AYKO.
